Marriage and Family Therapist, Provisional Associate
Kiana Suliven, AMFT, is a Native Hawaiian therapist born and raised in Makakilo, Oʻahu. As a daughter, older sister, wife, and mother, she values family, community, culture, and meaningful relationships. Her experiences as a military spouse for 20 years have given her a deep understanding of life transitions, resilience, and personal growth.
Kiana earned her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree from Abilene Christian University and began working in the mental health field in 2024. She is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. She is known for building genuine connections through authenticity, empathy, active listening, and curiosity. When appropriate, she believes humor can be a valuable part of the healing process, helping clients feel more comfortable and connected.
Kiana views therapy as a collaborative partnership and believes clients are the experts of their own lives. Her role is to serve as a guide and support clients as they navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and work toward meaningful change. Her areas of focus include addictions, anger management, anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, and recovery from sexual abuse.
Outside of therapy, Kiana enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, laughing with friends, and engaging in creative activities such as Tahitian dance, lei making, crocheting, and puzzles. She also loves cats, pizza, Hawaiian food, and chocolate.
