Marriage and Family Intern 

Michelle Nakaula is a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate with a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Born and raised on Kauai, she comes from a proud Hawaiian-Filipino background and is a first-generation college and graduate student. Her cultural roots shape her values of resilience, connection, and personal growth, which she integrates into her work with clients. 

Outside of her professional work, Michelle enjoys hiking, going to the beach, spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, and baking at home. She also has a deep love for dogs, especially her Maltese Shih-Tzu. 

Michelle works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, providing a safe and compassionate space where clients feel heard and supported. She takes a culturally grounded approach, incorporating various evidence-based modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). 

She specializes in self-esteem, family conflict, life transitions, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues, including marriage counseling. Passionate about guiding clients through life’s challenges—whether it’s workplace stress, emotional struggles, or complex family dynamics—Michelle helps individuals and families find clarity, balance, and meaningful change. 

Michelle is dedicated to fostering strong, trusting relationships with her clients and supporting them on their journey toward healing and personal growth.
