Sharae Hawelu is a dual-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst at Kapolei Counseling Center. Born and raised on Oahu, she values the traditions of her native Hawaiian culture. Sharae earned her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with family and friends.
With over 8 years of extensive experience, Sharae provides therapeutic and behavioral support to individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds. Her dual certification allows her to integrate therapeutic and evidence-based behavioral approaches, ensuring comprehensive and holistic care for her clients.
Sharae works with children, adults, and families and offers counseling services that encompass a wide range of concerns, including relationship issues, family dynamics, parenting challenges, communication, and stress management. Her expertise extends to addressing anxiety, depression, grief, codependency, trauma, family conflict, self-esteem issues, infidelity, life transitions, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
With a collaborative, client-centered, and culturally sensitive approach, Sharae creates a safe space for clients to openly explore their thoughts and experiences. She embraces each client’s personal strengths and unique approach to life as a foundation for growth. Her primary goal is to empower clients to overcome challenges, develop effective coping skills, and enhance self-confidence.
